The Seiko Presage Craftsmanship Urushi SPB405J1 is a watch that embraces Japanese design and culture with a very wearable and simply beautiful watch. This watch is part of the Seiko Presage Craftsmanship Series and pays tribute to Urushi craftsmanship. The deep black urushi lacquer dial created by lacquer master Isshu Tamura and his team, who practice a centuries-old art – one older than watchmaking itself – to craft urushi lacquer that gains in strength as the years pass. The Urushi lacquer dial is truly mesmerising and beautiful. Every millimeter of this watch has been thought of and appreciated, as only Seiko is capable of. When it comes to watches such as these, the details and smallest nuances can make a huge impact, which is why it's so hard to make a truly inspiring model. What Seiko did was get the details just right. Everything from the inspiration, the elegantly shaped 40.2mm (48mm lug to lug distance) case, mere 12.1mm thickness, it all makes this watch both timeless, stand out and stylish. It is also a very capable watch with 100m water resistance, a super hard coating and under the hood is the Seiko Cal. 6R35 movement. This amazing movement features an impressive 72 hour power reserve and date window at three o'clock. Of course this is an in-house Seiko movement, in line with the rich history of the brand.
