The Seiko 5 GMT SSK027K1 Yuto Horigome Limited Edition is what many people have been waiting for, for a very long time: a great, well-made, versatile sports watch with a mechanical (automatic) GMT movement. That is of course not impossible to find, however the big difference with this model is that the price is also very modest. It's a true all-rounder with 100m water resistance, unidirectional bezel and a comfortable 42.5mm case (excluding crown), stylish 5-row bracelet and a modest 46mm lug to lug distance and a durable black coating. The beautiful dial is protected by Hardlex mineral glass. The colourful blue and purple bezel is meant to resemble the evening in downtown Tokyo, where he still often skateboards. Under the hood is the mechanical (automatic) Seiko in-house Cal. 4R34 movement, with a day indicator at 3 o'clock (enlarged with a date loupe) but most importantly, also featuring a red GMT hand. The movement is also visible through the display caseback window. This special SSK027K1 pays tribute to the legendary skateboarder and Olympic gold medalist Yuto Horigome and is limited to just 2700 pieces.
